Oncotympanini

胸部は前方で幅狭くなる。
前胸背外片の側縁は明らかに角ばるか、歯状の突起を持つ。
♂背弁は部分的に共鳴室を覆う。
♂腹弁は長い。
前/後翅は透明で、しばしば模様を持つ。
前翅のbasal cellの長さは幅の二倍以上。
前翅のulner cell3 は先端に向かってほとんど(あるいは全く)増幅しない。
前翅の翅脈のM脈とCuA脈は基部で非常に近づくか癒合している。

※上記はかつて所属していたDundubiini(≒Cicadini)族を参考としている。

♂背弁は著しく隆起する。
