本属の種の多くはMalagasiaに分類されていたもので、特徴が類似している。

中型の種で、頭部は中胸背と同幅またはやや広い。
頭部は前胸背より短い。
体はやや円筒形で、腹部は頭部＋胸部の長さより長い。
腹部腹板は隆起する。
♂腹弁を欠く（本属の主要な根拠）。
Auditory capsuleは発達し強く硬化する。
翅は暗色斑を欠き透明。
